In the Texas state waters offshore Jefferson County (RRC Dist. 3), an exploratory test has been permitted by Houston-based Tri-C Resources
The 1 State Tract 10-L S/2 NW/4 is scheduled to be vertically drilled to 9000 ft on High Island Block 10. The proposed location is immediately east of a wildcat that was abandoned in 1998 by Apache Corp. The 1 High Island 10-L reached 8773 ft, with few details released.
The Tri-C venture is a half-mile northwest of the bottomhole location of Mobile Oil Corp's 9-A State Tract 10-L on the same block. This 11,643-ft producer was tested in 1956 flowing gas from perforations in the Miocene at 5197-5211-ft. The well yielded a cumulative 56.1 million cu ft of gas as part of High Island Block 10L field.
Block 10L field was online from the mid 1950's through 1993. The Miocene reservoir recovered a cumulative 32.3 billion cu ft og gas, 1.05 million bbls of condensate and 2.06 million bbls of water.
